How do you get the Hedgehog?

The Hedgehog (formerly known as the Elf Hedgehog) is a limited ultra-rare pet in Adopt Me! that was released on December 14, 2019, as part of the Christmas Event (2019). It could have been bought for 80,500 Gingerbread. As its event has ended, it can now only be obtained through trading.
In the Dress Your Pets Live Event on April 11, 2020, the Elf Hedgehog was renamed "Hedgehog" and the Elf Hat was added to the inventory of players that had previously owned the Elf Hedgehog, allowing them to trade the hat separately.
